Identify invasive aquatic plants. Procure, package, distribute and occasionally apply herbicides to control them. Eradicate grass in spillway and trees on the downstream side of the dam per guidelines of the Texas Commission On Environmental Quality. Maintain and change boat ramp locks and chains.

Mow and weed common areas including the airstrip. Maintain trees and shrubs on Association properties. Interface with waste management contractors and Precinct 1 County Commissioner on road and culvert issues. A telephone tree is maintained for emergency communication.

Avinger Volunteer Fire Department Firewise Representative

A satellite fire station located on the air strip is staffed by volunteer firefighters for the added protection of the lake community. Several of these volunteers are certified in CPR and the use of AED’s (defibrillator) and perform the duties of first responders.

Safety/Security
Common areas such as the boat launch requires entrance via a combination lock. Residents that require the combination can obtain it from any Board Member.
